Pursuant to Oregon Revised Statutes (ORS) 737.310(17)(b), the following information describes how wildfire risk mitigation actions, as defined in ORS 742.277, impact underwriting and premium rating for properties insured by American Modern Property and Casualty Insurance Company in Oregon.
Underwriting Impact
Wildfire risk mitigation actions undertaken by property owners are not currently used in underwriting decisions for our Oregon programs. Specifically, mitigation actions do not impact eligibility for coverage, are not considered in policy issuance decisions, and do not affect cancellation or non-renewal determinations. Underwriting decisions continue to be based on risk characteristics and company underwriting guidelines.
